/lɔː/: A body of knowledge, especially of an ancient, traditional, or anecdotal nature.
LORE is the bespoke service I offer, creating unique handmade objects for individuals and communities to mark and celebrate rites of passage.
I believe that being celebrated or witnessed at important moments in our lives can help build resilience, community, and care. The making and giving of a special gift is a way of doing this.
How does it work?
I work with you to learn as much as I can about the recipient(s), and draw on 10 years' earth-based ceremonial and ritual practice to inform the final piece.
This is a slow and gentle process.
What will it be made from?
The materials and techniques I use vary, and are informed by the people involved and the intention behind the gift. I use responsibly and locally sourced materials, like pure unbleached Irish linen.
Pieces can be long-lasting or ephemeral, depending on your needs.
